EN<\/strong><\/p>\n

Today is World Storytelling Day<\/strong>\u00a0<\/i>and as I’m taking part on the Nikon’s Blogger Challenge across Europe, I’m going to tell you the story of Bucharest<\/strong> in images.<\/p>\n

Bucharest is a city of contrasts and this is what I’m trying to depict through the photos I’ll take with the Nikon D5300<\/a>, which is a great camera for this purpose, because it has WiFi<\/strong> and GPS, <\/strong>making\u00a0my life easier by letting me transmit Live images as I’m taking them, using my iPad.<\/p>\n

So please come back hourly on this post to see my updates, or watch images appearing live on Storify<\/a> or follwing the hashtag #NikonCityStory<\/a> on Flickr and other major social media sites (Facebook<\/a>, Google+<\/a>, Twitter<\/a> etc.)<\/p>\n

Astazi este Ziua Internationala a Povestilor<\/strong> si pentru ca iau parte la provocarea Nikon adresata bloggerilor din toata Europa, va voi spune povestea Bucurestiului<\/strong> in imagini.<\/p>\n

Bucuresti este un oras al contrastelor si asta voi incerca sa surprind in imaginile pe care le voi realiza cu aparatul Nikon D5300<\/a>, o camera excelenta pentru acest scop, pentru ca are WiFi<\/strong> si GPS<\/strong> lucru ce-mi va face viata mai usoara in a transmite Live imaginile pe care le voi realiza de-a lungul zilei cu aparatul si pe care le voi uploada cu iPad-ul.<\/p>\n

Asa ca va invit sa reveniti in mod constant pe aceasta postare pentru a vedea actualizarile, sau puteti urmari live povestile tuturor desfasurandu-se pe\u00a0Storify<\/a>\u00a0sau urmarind hashtag-ul\u00a0#NikonCityStory<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>pe Flickr sau pe alte retele de socializare importante (Facebook<\/a>,\u00a0Google+<\/a>,\u00a0Twitter<\/a>\u00a0etc.)<\/p>\n

09:00 AM<\/strong> – According to the World Records Academy, the House of the People (Palace of Parliament) is the world’s largest civilian building with an administrative function, most expensive administrative building and heaviest building.<\/p>\n

10:00 AM<\/strong> – Beautiful old buildings of Bucharest.<\/p>\n

Shot in Raw, converted in camera with custom WB, exposure comp. of -0.3 EV, then fixed the perspective for buildings using the great Perspective Correction Tool from the Retouch Menu.<\/p>\n

11:00 AM<\/strong> – the old man<\/p>\n

An old man reads the newspaper in the park, enjoying the first days of spring<\/p>\n

Shot in Raw then converted in-camera to Monochrome but first applying a Red intensify filter for better B&W.<\/p>\n

12:00 PM<\/strong> – A strange find in the city<\/p>\n

Shot with in-camera HDR medium setting.<\/p>\n

01:00 PM<\/strong> – Feeding time<\/p>\n

Feeding birds is a practice loved by everyone, regardless of age.<\/p>\n

02:00 PM<\/strong> – Recharging batteries<\/p>\n

A good traditional meal is well worth after so many km taken by foot. I would recommend Caru’ cu Bere in the city centre, the best ambiance and food in town. And live violin music, of course.<\/p>\n

The camera also needed the batery to be changed after 300+ photos taken, GPS all time on and high usage of WiFi and LCD for retouching.<\/p>\n

04:00 PM<\/strong> – Km 0<\/p>\n

Being the tallest hotel in the city, the Intercontinental became the hotel of choice for foreign press in Bucharest.<\/p>\n

During the Romanian Revolution of 1989, the balconies of the InterContinental were a privileged point to report on the repression of the protests in University Square, Km 0 of the freedom.

06:00 PM<\/strong> – The Bridge<\/p>\n

This modern bridge which solved a lot of traffic jams has a funny story: it was started by the actual president of the country when he was a mayor, and was finished by the actual mayor which is almost there to become the next president \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

09:30 PM<\/strong> – Zoom out Bucharest<\/p>\n

Zoom out Bucharest. I’m going to the students pubs. Don’t miss Regie if you’re visiting!<\/p>\n

Thank you all for following “live” my adventure through Bucharest. It was a fun “ride” and somehow I couldn’t feel tired seeing so many nice places in front of my lens. The light and weather was perfect today in Bucharest. I will update one more (and last time) this post with a larger gallery of the photos I made today.<\/p>\n
